Tom Brazel - Director, Hong Kong & Singapore

Tom started his legal recruitment career in 2010 at a leading legal search firm in London and in 2011 he relocated to their Hong Kong office.

Since relocating to Hong Kong, Tom has specialised in placing senior lawyers in Asia, with a focus on Hong Kong and China. Tom’s clients include leading international law firms, private equity firms, hedge funds, investment banks and other financial institutions. Tom has completed retained partner-level searches for international law firms and placed senior lawyers within the financial services sector.

In addition to his experience in legal recruitment, Tom was involved in the establishment of a technology start-up that has operations in Hong Kong and the United States. Through this venture, Tom gained unique experience in growing a business, fundraising, marketing, business strategy and in building a cross-border team.

Tom has a bachelor’s degree from Flinders University in International Business. Tom enjoys cooking, wine, snowboarding, and travelling.

Tom Hayman - Director, Hong Kong & London

Tom is a Director at Hamilton Search, he has 9 years’ experience working in Asia and a further 6+ years based in London covering Europe and the Middle East. Tom has substantial global experience within private practice and specialises in moving partners/teams in international markets, with a particular focus on Asia. Tom is heavily focused on running retained and exclusive search on behalf of international law firms and financial institutions

Matt Burke - Director, Singapore & Hong Kong

With over 12 years of experience in legal recruitment across Asia, Matt specializes in advising lawyers within the Banking & Finance, Restructuring & Insolvency (R&I), Energy, and Projects sectors, focusing on both private practice and in-house roles. Matt has a particular expertise in the Hong Kong, Singapore, and Australia markets.

Prior to recruitment, Matt worked in Business Development at a leading law firm in Hong Kong, gaining valuable insight into law firm operations. Matt holds a Bachelor’s degree from Oxford Brookes University and enjoys spending his spare time with family or training for ultra-marathons on Asia’s running trails.

Harry Thorne – Funds & Private Equity, London

Harry has over twelve years’ experience in legal search, and has always maintained a laser focus on the private equity and fund formation practice areas, both in-house and private practice. He has been responsible for some of the marquee partner hires in both spaces over recent years, and also assists funds of all types (PE, Infra, Debt, Secondaries, Distressed and ‘other’) hire best in class Legal Counsel and General Counsel. For years Harry has worked with Private Equity Lawyers Forum (PELF) and remains an active member of that thriving PE community. In addition to a focus on London, Harry also helps clients in European markets including Luxembourg.

Matt Crocombe – Director, Dubai

Matt leads Hamilton’s Middle East practice, specialising in moving Partners and teams within the Private Practice market. Having been based in the UAE for over fifteen years, Matt has formed strong relationships with the premier UK and US law firms and has been responsible for many of the regions leading Partner moves. Matt is particularly known for his expertise in the Saudi Arabian market and has helped open a number of international offices in the Kingdom.

Matt is a honours graduate from the University of Nottingham and conducted his executive education at Harvard Business School. When not spending time with his wife and twin boys, he enjoys playing golf and cricket, and traveling throughout the wider region as much as possible
